I’m Dennis Mangrobang, and this project is being pioneered and bootstrapped by me alone, at least for now. I’m a retired embedded systems developer with 50 years of experience spanning software and hardware engineering, component-level electronics, tool-and- die and CNC machining, and manufacturing engineering — a genuinely cross-disciplinary background, not a single specialty, which is part of why I think I can actually see this convergence of technologies clearly (see Why I Think This Time Is Different).
I own a small industrial building, equipped with CNC machines, a laser cutter, 3D printers, welding equipment, and an electronics lab. Rather than gift that building and equipment outright to the EOT once it exists, I’m choosing to make it available at zero or low profit — a deliberate bootstrapping choice, explained more fully in Why This Has to Start This Way.
I’m not seeking personal profit from this effort, though I expect some fair compensation for my contribution once the entity is actually operating. My real motivation is addressing wealth and income inequality driven by concentrated automation ownership, which I think is one of the major challenges of this era — not as an abstract statistic, but because I don’t want to watch people lose their livelihoods while the value their work still creates flows somewhere else entirely.
I don’t expect anyone to take this project on faith. Everything else on this site is my attempt to show my reasoning, not just assert a conclusion — the trust mechanism, the governance design, the actual near-term projects I’m building. This page exists mainly to answer a simpler question: why me, and why now. The honest answer is that I have the background, the tools, and the conviction to start it — and I haven’t found anyone else already doing it.
